US switches to digital television

More than two million households in the US will be faced with blank television screens from Friday, when stations across the country switch off their analogue signal for good.

The nationwide transition to digital services has caused a last-minute scramble to buy set-top converter boxes and new televisions.

Greg Wood talked to Crystal Stroupe, a specialist at the biggest electronic retail chain in the US who has been been guiding customers through the digital maze.
