Search for lost plane resumes

Rescuers are searching waters over the Atlantic for an Air France airliner carrying 228 passengers and crew which disappeared on route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on Monday.

The United States is the latest country to offer assistance in tracing the flight.

The search has been narrowed to a few square miles of the Atlantic Ocean. Aircraft with special monitoring equipment are continuing to fly over the area, looking for any signs of the Airbus A330.

Garry Duffy reports from Sao Paulo.
