Africans runners are coming to New York to participate in small club meetings - and are taking the city's athletic community by storm.
The runners often win their races and are known to send their winnings to their families back home.
But despite their success they tend to get little respect and are hardly known at all outside the running fraternity. Even in the races they win, it is likely that the people they defeat have no idea where they came from or how they got here.
Dumeetha Luthra went along to a meeting to meet some of them.
