Obama makes historic rail trip

US President-elect Barack Obama retraced the steps of Abraham Lincoln as he travelled from Philadelphia to Washington to assume the presidency.

Mr Obama and his family and a party of guests, public officials and reporters began the journey at Philadelphia's 30th St. Station.

Their train travelled through Wilmington and Baltimore, before pulling into Washington's Union Station.
