Thousands threatened by US floods

More than 30,000 people have been told to leave their homes in western Washington as rain and high winds caused widespread mudslides and flooding.

Dozens of main roads were closed and the National Weather Service issued flood warnings for about two dozen rivers in the state.

Warmer temperatures and heavy rains were melting snow that was dumped on the mountains during a weekend storm.
