LA Santa killer 'planned to flee'

US police say the LA 'Santa Claus' gunman, Bruce Pardo, planned to flee to Canada before he was badly burnt.

Bruce Pardo burst into a Christmas Eve party at his ex-wife's parents' home in Covina shooting and starting a fire.

He later died after shooting himself in the head at his brother's home about 25 miles (40km) away.

Covina police chief Kim Raney spoke about the case.
