Brazil sets target to reduce emissions

Brazil plans to reduce the rate of destruction of the Amazon rainforest by more than half.

The Brazilian environment minister, Carlos Minc, unveiled the new targets and said it was vital to cut carbon emissions by more than four billion tonnes over the next nine years.
