Low Thanksgiving spending predicted

The Thanksgiving holiday in the United States signals the most important time for the year for retailers.

Americans are forecast to spend some $832 on holiday-related shopping according to the National Retail Federation, the lowest spending since 2002.

Falling household wealth, tighter credit and the highest unemployment rate in 14 years are hammering consumers.
