Widespread flooding in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina has left at least 65 people dead and forced approximately 20,000 from their homes.

The heavy rainfall has led to landslides which have destroyed homes, blocked roads and ruptured a major gas line.

A state of emergency has been declared in the region.
