Celebs urge Americans to vote

Snoopy and Peanuts, Paris Hilton and Kristen Bell are urging US electors to vote in the presidential poll.

The Peanuts characters used the launch of a DVD to promote voting, while Paris Hilton called on the West Wing's Martin Sheen to boost her mock campaign to lead the nation. A clothing chain is also enlisting celebrities, including Kristen Bell, to perform for the cameras.

The separate efforts are all promoting the 4 November poll where Obama or McCain will take the top job.
