US lawmakers publish rescue deal

US politicians have published a $700bn deal to throw a lifeline to Wall Street and end the global credit crunch.

Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat leader of the House of Representatives, told reporters that the proposal was not a Wall Street bail-out, but a ''buy-in'' to turn the economy around.
