Two dead in US hospital shooting

Two people have been killed, and another badly injured, in a shooting at a hospital in the US state of Georgia.

Police in the city of Columbus say a man shot at two people inside Doctors Hospital, and then went out to the car park and fired again.

The suspect was then shot by a plain clothes officer, and is being treated in hospital, say police.

Witnesses told local television that the suspect's mother had died in the hospital on Thursday.

Columbus Police Chief Ricky Boren is quoted by the Associated Press as saying that one of the people killed was a male nurse.

He said a secretary was in a critical condition.
