Peruvian author Vargas Llosa receives US award for essays
The Peruvian author, Mario Vargas Llosa, has won one of the most prestigious literature prizes in the United States for an essay collection. The National Book Critics Circle awarded the prize in the criticism category to the book Making Waves. It was the first time that the competition was open to non-US citizens.
