In pictures: Diallo trial aftermath
Images from the aftermath of the Amadou Diallo trial in which four New York police officers were acquitted.

Police lead away a woman protester on 42nd Street.

Immediately after the verdicts were announced, protesters filled Wheeler Avenue in the Bronx, where Amadou Diallo lived and was shot.

Candles, flowers and written messages were left outside Diallo's building.

Mr Diallo's mother Kadiatou (right) called for calm. She wept in court as the verdicts were announced. Also pictured: The Reverend Al Sharpton (left) and attorney Robert Conason (centre).

Not everyone outside the Albany courthouse was against the verdict. Eugene Roos (right), a self-described "patriotic American" cheered the acquittals along with Michelle Culbertson (left).

New York City police officer Richard Murphy (right) and his attorney listen as ...

... New York State Supreme Court Justice Joseph Teresi reads the verdict.
