Argentine president-elect discharged from hospital

The president-elect of Argentina, Fernando de la Rua, has been discharged from a hospital in Buenos Aires where he was being treated for a lung problem.

Mr de la Rua, who's sixty-two, was taken ill last Friday with pneumothorax, meaning there was liquid on his lung.

Doctors say he has responded well to treatment and they expect him to make a full recovery.

Mr de la Rua, of the opposition Alliance, won the presidential election last month and is due to take office on December 10th.
