Fourteen people, including 12 children, have been found dead in a village in French Guiana, say police.
"We have to wait for checks but it looks like a poisoning or food poisoning," a police spokesman in Paris said, according to Reuters news agency.
Police went by helicopter to the remote village of Loca, in the west of the French overseas territory, after local people found the bodies in a house.
A judicial inquiry is said to have been opened into the deaths.
