Are you visiting the top of the Rockefeller?
New York's skyline as seen from the top of the Rockefeller Center

Are you going to the "Top of the Rock"?

One of the best views in New York City - at the top of the Rockefeller Center in Manhattan - reopened to the public on Tuesday after almost 20 years.

The unveiling of the observation deck has generated excitement among New Yorkers and tourists alike as it is the first major tourist attraction - at such a high altitude at least - to be unveiled in the city since the 9/11 attacks.

Are you visiting the observation deck? If so, we would like to hear what you thought of it and see your still and moving images of the view. Send your images to yourpics@bbc.co.uk.

I returned back from New York on Sunday the 30th October after an amazing trip to the states. One of the highlights was the trip to the Rockefeller centre as it was free and showed amazing views of New York City. The best place in the world is New York, simply amazing!

I'm glad to hear that the Rockefeller Center is open to the public again. A great place to see the "Big Apple" from, as I had the opportunity to do so 20 years ago. A must see for any tourists.

For years, this was where I took out of town friends when they wanted to see New York from above. By far the best view, especially to the North. I was saddened when they closed it, but am very happy now that it has re-opened. In the 70's I could point out the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, and then point to the twin towers and say "and there are the boxes they came in".

Outstanding! A must see for all including New Yorkers.

From reading and seeing the image of the "Top of the Rock", I really want to go now! The view looks as if it is spectacular! And what the viewers have to say, just really makes you want to go! I live in California, so it would be some journey! I don't know about the whole $15 for fifteen minutes, so I'll think about it. Sure does look nice though!

The most famous Top of the Rock experience was Ole Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly dancing and singing around the roof in 1945 as sailors on a pass in NY in the movie Anchors Aweigh.

The design of the deck and facilities is incredible. The architect, Michael Gabellini is a genius!
Susan, New York, NY

I've lived in NYC for my whole life and never knew Rock Center had an observation deck. I've only ever been on the Empire State one. I am looking forward to this new view of the city.

To Koreans it's very difficult to get a US visa. But last month I got a US visa so next year I'm going to visit Rockfeller Center. Four years ago, I went to New York but I've never visited the Rockfeller Center. I'm really looking forward to visiting the observation deck.

My boyfriend is taking me to New York at Christmas time and we are definitely going to have a look even if I am scared of heights I wouldn't miss it. The view will make a fantastic picture.
Sam Wilson, Scotland, UK

I have been waiting for this and I will be going in mid-November. I worked in the WTC on the 65th floor and was a spectacular view. Until two years ago I worked in the very building at Rock Center that has the observation deck.
Daphne, NYC, USA

I am going to visit New York this Christmas, and the top of the Rockefeller Center is definitely at the top of my to go list. I am doubting that it will be a potential target of terrorism then, but I am also hoping that security will be good. Nonetheless, it is exciting, something I can tell my friends after vacation.
Eriko Suzuki, Monteal, Canada

Truly one of the best views of the city. Plus, the glass walls make for a great picture rather than a fence behind you. I think it's better to see the Empire State Building than to look out from it.
Rob Schnabel, Brooklyn, NY, USA

I was lucky enough to be in the first group of public visitors to the top last week. They were giving free tickets outside the Rockefeller Center - and I have to say that it is fantastic. The views are wonderful and there is so much more space than the Empire State Building - highly Recommended.
Ashley Quint, Hemel Hempstead, UK

Visited it in the 70's, and can't wait to go again. The best view in all New York, and the perfect spot for a first time visitor to orient themselves to the geography of the city.
T Rogers,

Just visited "Top of the Rock" on Saturday. Great view with a lot of crowd control! Plan an hour for the experience. Ask the doorman, in grey, at street level by the ice rink if he has any more five dollar tickets! That was the price on Saturday but I understand it will go to $15 by November 1. The view just may be worth $15 on a nice day! The glass roofed elevator is cool!
Greg, Montana, USA

This is great news for those who want an amazing view of the area since the wait to get up to the top of the Empire State Building is ridiculously long. I plan on eventually checking this out.
Alex W B, Manhattan, NY, USA

I am glad that the observation was finally reopened after two decades. I will be there in a fortnight while on my vacation.
Omorodion Osula, Boston, USA

At $14 and with annoying high security, I don't think so!
John, NYC, USA

Yes, I am going there this Saturday. Seems a bit of a rip off to charge $15 for 15 minutes but hey - this is NY - nothing is free here - not even the view.
Aparna, New York, NY, USA

My wife and I (and the mother in law) managed to get a pre-opening view. We were very impressed. The views of downtown and uptown are fantastic. We preferred the Rock experience to the Empire State building.
