Following Arnold Schwarzenegger's convincing victory in the Californian election, the world's press has hailed his new role but wonders whether the film star will be able to fulfil his responsibilities.

While many too readily scoff at his broken English, he is a well-educated and highly successful business entrepreneur... Those who fear the judgement of the people may suggest this is a win for populism over political maturity but Schwarzenegger's sweeping ballot box victory demonstrates the American genius for embracing new ideas and new people.
