Bishop 'killer' dies in prison riot
A Guatemalan army sergeant, who was implicated in the murder of a Roman Catholic bishop, has been killed during a prison riot.

Jose Obdulio Villanueva and two Guatemalan army officers were sentenced to 30 years in prison for their part in the murder of Bishop Juan Gerardi five years ago.

But an appeals court annulled the verdict in Mr Villanueva's case, which is currently being reviewed by a higher court.

At least two other prisoners were killed during the riot.

Bishop Gerardi led the Catholic church's human rights office in Guatemala.
