Canada ratifies Kyoto Protocol

The Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, signed the international agreement after it received strong backing from the Canadian House of Commons. The accord has already passed into international law, but the leading emissions producer, the United States, has rejected it. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
