Haitian students storm university
Thousands of students have stormed administrative buildings in Haiti's state university, in the latest in a series of protests against what they say is government interference in education.

After briefly occupying the university rectory, the students marched on the presidential palace to demand the reinstatement of the former rector, Pierre-Marie Paquiot, who was sacked by the government in July.

Student leaders have accused the government of seeking to undermine university autonomy, which is guaranteed in Haiti's constitution.

Supporters of president Jean-Bertrand Aristide accuse the students of backing opposition groups.
