Mexico bus crash kills 16
Remains of the Mexican bus that crashed on 6 August
An earlier accident in Michoacan state killed dozens
At least 16 people have been killed and 30 injured in a bus crash in the north-western Mexican state of Sonora, authorities say.

The injured include a number of children, some in a serious condition.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident, but it is not yet known.

The bus - which was travelling between the cities of Guaymas and Hermosillo - apparently hit a post and rolled over several times into a stream.

Rescue work has reportedly been complicated by the damage to the bus and the strong current in the stream.

Earlier tragedy

The accident comes four days after more than 30 people were killed in another bus crash in the central state of Michoacan.

The victims of that crash were all members of an evangelical church.

They were on their way to an annual re-enactment of the Last Supper.

Police said the brakes of the bus appeared to have failed.
