Playboy to 'expose' Enron women
Enron: The biggest ever US corporate bankruptcy
Playboy is looking for women staff from the collapsed US energy giant Enron to pose for a special issue of the magazine.
The men's magazine, famous for its centrefolds of nude women, says it is planning a photo spread entitled the "Women of Enron" to showcase current and former employees of the ruined Houston energy company.
"When one door closes, another one opens," said photography director Gary Cole. "Playboy is offering the women of Enron an exciting opportunity that may lead them down a new career path." Playboy spokeswoman Elizabeth Norris said: "We're looking at this as something fun for them to do while they're looking for another job." Bare flesh She declined to say how much Playboy would pay the models, but stressed that they would be free to choose how much flesh to bare. Generally, Playboy pays more for less clothing. Interested models are being asked to send a recent full-figure photo of themselves in a bikini and a headshot. The magazine is aiming to publish the spread in this summer - but it is not clear how many former Enron employees have expressed an interest. And a "Women of Andersen" issue, showcasing employees of Enron's now critically wounded auditor, is not out of the question, the spokeswoman said. "They're taking transparency to a whole new level," said Enron spokeswoman Karen Denne.
