Thursday, September 10, 1998 Published at 17:55 GMT 18:55 UK World: Americas Street kids set up union A group of street children in the Mexican town of Guadalajara who earn their living cleaning car windscreens have set up a union to protect their interests. The union, which is called 'Dignified Work' Trabajo Digno is thought to be the first such organisation in Mexico and was set up by fifty children who from now on say they will wear a uniform for their work, carry an identity card and won't drink or take drugs whilst they work.
