Earthquake off Costa Rica
An earthquake in the Caribbean has shaken Costa Rica and parts of Panama, but there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties. The tremor, measuring just under six on the Richter scale, had its epicentre off the coast near the border between Costa Rica and Panama. A more powerful earthquake in the same area ten years ago killed nearly fifty people. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
