Help for US Heatwave

President Clinton has ordered the release of one hundred million dollars of emergency funds to fight the heatwave in southern and western parts of the United States.

It will help pay for fans and airconditioners.

Mr Clinton said it was a time of crisis, with the summer looking like being the hottest on record.

Over a hundred people have died, mainly in the states of Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas including illegal immigrants crossing over from Mexico.
