Brazil foot and mouth spreads
The authorities in Brazil have confirmed a second case of the animal disease, foot-and-mouth, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul.

Officials from the agriculture ministry have now begun a vaccination programme across the state to prevent the outbreak from spreading further.

Several countries have banned imports of Brazilian beef until the virus is contained.
