Sex abuse conviction for boxer

The reigning World Boxing Council super-middleweight champion has been found guilty of sexually abusing two sisters under the age of fourteen.

Dave Hilton who's Canadian had denied allegations that he abused the girls over a three-year period from 1995 to 1998.

The judge Rolande Matte hearing the case in the Canadian city of Montreal said Hilton's evidence during the seventeen-day trial had not been convincing.

Hilton now faces up to fourteen years in prison.

The court heard that Hilton had had a sexual relationship with the girls' mother for four years until 1999.
