Argentina money-laundering probe
The governor of Argentina's Central Bank, Pedro Pou, has been giving evidence before a congressional committee investigating his alleged role in a money-laundering scandal. The committee is looking into accusations that Mr Pou failed to investigate cases of alleged money-laundering through two Argentine banks - a scheme estimated to be worth about ten-billion dollars. The committee will decide whether to recommend that the country's president, Fernando de la Rua, dismiss Mr Pou. So far, the government had said there's no evidence to justify his removal.
