Quake causes panic in El Salvador
El Salvador has been hit by an earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter scale, one month to the day after a massive quake killed over a thousand.
The 20-second quake is reported to have caused landslides in the east of the country. There have been no reports of casualties yet, but government helicopters are in the air to survey the damage. The BBC's Mike Lanchin in El Salvador says precautionary evacuations have been taking place amid panic. |
