Rescue teams at work in San Salvador
Rescue teams continue to search for victims of the earthquake
Saturday's earthquake in El Salvador is known to have killed more than 500 people and left tens of thousands made homeless.

Several towns in eastern and western El Salvador are reported to have been completely destroyed.

Hundreds of aftershocks are hampering the rescue operation.

Some of the country's hospitals are reaching breaking point, and patients are being turned away because medical staff can no longer cope with the large numbers of injured.

If you would like to help you can make a donation to one of the following:

Oxfam

Oxfam has a team of staff in the region, and is sending the first consignment of supplies out to El Salvador from the UK on Monday, along with some of its top water engineers.

If you have any queries about making a donation to Oxfam ring 01865 313131, or if you are calling from outside the United kingdom +44 1865 313131.

Red Cross

More than 1,000 Red Cross staff and volunteers are working round the clock on search and rescue activities in several disaster sites throughout El Salvador.

Unicef

Emergency relief supplies from Unicef are to be flown into San Salvador from Copenhagen on Monday to help mitigate post-earthquake effects on children's health. Supplies include three full emergency health kits, each kit providing 10,000 people with three months worth of medical assistance.
