Ten die in desert

The Sudanese authorities say ten people died of thirst trying to cross the Sahara desert to Libya.

They say the ten appeared to be illegal migrants who lost their way.

A Sudanese rescue team led a further one-hundred-and-eighty people to the safety of an oasis.
