Sultan of Brunei visits Ghana

The Sultan of Brunei is in Ghana for a three-day state visit.

Tight security surrounded his arrival at the Kotoka international airport in Accra where he was given a twenty-one gun salute.

The Sultan's trip follows a visit by Ghana's president, Jerry Rawlings, to Brunei in March.

Ghana's Energy Minister , John Abu, said the Sultan was expected to continue talks with the Ghanaian government on various issues including the purchase of crude oil from Brunei and credit terms.
