Meeting Congo's Symphony Orchestra

Jonathan Dimbleby meets the musicians of the Kimbanguist Symphony Orchestra rehearsing in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The orchestra has been making music year-in-year-out through a quarter of a century of national turmoil.

Founder and creator Armand Diangienda is proud to have fused two great musical traditions together, using Western musical instruments to create Congolese classical music.

The final part of African Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby passing through nine countries and over 7,000 miles is on Sunday 13 June at 2100BST on BBC Two. The three episodes will be available (to UK viewers) via iPlayer for a further 7 days.
