Pirate threat continues off Africa

The British government has said it will not pay a requested $7m ransom for the couple kidnapped by Somali pirates a week ago.

Paul and Rachel Chandler were taken hostage by gunmen as they sailed their yacht in the Indian Ocean on 23 October.

The idyllic coastline is a massive draw for adventurous tourists, but yachtsmen and shipping companies alike are nervous about operating in the area.
