Musician Midge Ure has praised the Ethiopian government's appeal for aid but says there is still work to be done in the region.

The Ethiopian government has asked the international community for emergency food aid for 6.2 million people.

Ure was one of the key planners behind the original Band Aid project to raise funds for the 1984 Ethiopian famine.
