'I thought I was probably dead'

John, an American crew member of the Maersk Alabama which had been captured off the coast of Somalia by pirates before it was liberated by US Forces, has spoken about what it was like being held captive on the vessel.

Speaking to the BBC, John says he feared his "colleagues were dead" after hearing gun shots on the ship.
