Guinea Bissau swears in new leader

The new interim leader in Guinea Bissau, the parliamentary speaker, Raimundo Pereira, has appealed for international help to stabilise the country.

Mr Pereira was elected the day after the assassination of the former President Joao Bernardo Vieira who was shot dead by soldiers who blamed him for a bomb attack that killed the army chief on Sunday.

Raimundo Pereira must organise a presidential election within 60 days.
