UN urged to suspend Sudan case

The International Criminal Court could be close to issuing an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and charging him for war crimes.

Last July, the court accused him of masterminding a genocide in the Darfur region and deliberately wiping out rebel groups.

Representatives from the Arab League and African Union have urged the United Nations Security Council to suspend the case against Sudan's president.

Laura Trevelyan reports.
