Woman gives birth to septuplets

An Egyptian woman has given birth to septuplets in Egypt's coastal city of Alexandria.

Ghazala Khamis, 27, had been receiving fertility treatment prior to becoming pregnant with seven babies - four boys and three girls.

The babies - who weigh between 1.5 and 2kg (2.3 and 4lbs) are being cared for in a special care unit. Their parents have not yet been able to hold them but all are said to be in good health. The Egyptian government has promised to provide the family with free baby milk and nappies for the next two years.
