Rescue workers are searching for survivors after a two-storey building collapsed in Morocco killing 11 people.

The residential building in Khenitra, 45km (28 miles) north of the capital, Rabat, collapsed during construction work on Wednesday, officials said.

Twenty six people have been injured and more are still under the rubble, officials told Reuters news agency.

Interior Minister Chakib Benmoussa, who visited the city on Thursday, vowed to punish anyone found responsible.

Rescue workers said they did not know how many people were working on the building when it collapsed.
