Nigerian voters' views: Chukwuma
Chukwuma Odelugo, 45, has recently returned home to Enugu in south-eastern Nigeria after living and working in the US. He is a practising lawyer.

NIGERIAN VOTERS' VIEWS
Map of Nigeria

I didn't vote. They didn't show up. We didn't see them.

People gathered from about 0800 and then by 1800 everyone turned round and went home.

It is really sad. My 70-year-old mother really wanted to vote but even she didn't get to.

This is Nigeria.

I wasn't surprised. I don't think most Nigerians were surprised. We have two main problems here. One is corruption and the other is incompetence.

Even if the Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) wanted to give the 60m of us a free and fair election, I really doubt that they would be able to, especially because of their inexperience.

Inec spent too much time on the disqualifications instead of planning - getting everything and preparing all the polling practicalities.

Maybe it was negligence or maybe just deliberate.
