Abdulkadir worries about what some preachers have been saying
|
Nigerians are very religious. It is everything to us and we are very abiding to our religion, be it Christianity or Islam.
Here in Kano State you cannot fail to see how people are in love with their religion.
But under that guise of being Godly, leaders can instruct people to do things - be it something good or bad.
And in God's name they will do it.
Sorrowfully, religious leaders have been preaching very worrying things.
One can read it in the media, hear it in the streets, at the mosque... it is a worrying situation.

NIGERIAN VOTERS' VIEWS
|
Certain individuials are taking advantage of the situation, with it being election time.
I hate the thought of violence.
I always want to be at peace with everyone and I am always watchful of this.
Some youths here in Kano have successfully been turned into the religious fanatics and they kill.
I have seen it.
Religion is entwined with politics and in every aspect of daily life and now we have a very, very volatile situation on our hands because of it.
