Congolese voters' views: Adolphe

Adolphe Ambikile, 30, is a language teacher in the Democratic Republic of Congo's capital, Kinshasa.

I have always supported Jean-Pierre Bemba.

He has a good understanding of the country - he was born here and he grew up here, he also studied here.

The reason why we don't support Kabila is because he was neither born here nor grew up here.

I think I know this country better than him.

The two contenders have very different backgrounds: Bemba studied more than Kabila and so will represent our country better on an international level. Jean-Pierre Bemba can take on anyone, he has more confidence.

Of the two I believe that Bemba will make my life better but sure, he is not God.

This country is so big - neither Jean Pierre Bemba nor Kabila can arrange everything totally but Bemba will try more.

Congo is like a continent on its own and so to bring peace and stability to all of Congo is very difficult.

Kabila has already had a turn and he did nothing. We still call him president. Why?

I want to vote for someone who has never been president. Bemba must now have a go and do what he can for us and then someone else must come after him and so on and so on.

Sunday will go well but after Sunday, the day they announce the winner, is when we will have problems. Will Kabila accept? Will Jean-Pierre Bemba accept?

People fear that after the election there will be war. We don't want any more war.

I am afraid.
