Twelve killed in Burundi ambush

Officials in Burundi say at least 12 people, including three soldiers, have been killed in an ambush by rebels.

Seven others were seriously wounded in the attack, which took place on the road at Kavumu some 37km north of the capital Bujumbura.

An official from the province of Muramvya said the rebels cut a tree to block the road and fired on the passing vehicles.
