Ethiopian students flee to Kenya

Hundreds of Ethiopian students complaining of persecution have been crossing the border into Kenya.

The United Nations refugee agency says 100 have arrived in the past 24 hours, bringing to 700 the number who have crossed in the past 10 days.

The UNHCR has been holding talks with Kenyan and Ethiopian officials to set up a voluntary repatriation programme.

Ethiopia's government alleges that separatist Oromo rebels falsely promised scholarships to the students.
