Uganda unhappy with DR Congo rebel

Media reports in Uganda say the army chief of staff, James Kazini, has threatened to arrest one of the rebel commanders in the Democratic Republic of Congo for insulting Ugandan troops fighting alongside the rebels.

The commander, Jean-Pierre Ondekane, leads the Rwandan-backed faction of the main rebel movement, the RCD.

The reported warning comes at a time of growing divisions between Rwanda and Uganda over their strategy in Congo.

The BBC correspondent in Uganda says both countries now appear to be struggling for control of the rebels.

Two rebel leaders Jean-Pierre Bemba and Ernest Wamba dia Wamba are now in Uganda for talks aimed at uniting their factions.
