Reports from the Democratic Republic of Congo say tensions are running high in the rebel-controlled eastern town of Uvira, following a clash involving local militia known as Banyamulenge.
A resident of the town told the BBC the fighting began when the Banyamulenge resisted attempts to arrest one of their local commanders.
In the clash that followed, a refugee camp reportedly came under artillery fire, resulting in many casualties.
