In pictures: Moroccan marriage celebration
In Morocco's first public celebration of a royal wedding, thousands of well-wishers from all over the kingdom thronged the streets to congratulate King Mohammed VI on his marriage to 24-year-old
Salma Bennani.
Representatives from all the provinces of the kingdom came in their finery to the Royal Palace
King Mohammed VI was the guest of honour, but other dignitaries included former US President Bill Clinton
The king viewed the parade seated next to his brother on a raised platform
While thousands of Moroccan women were present, the bride herself remained indoors
Dozens of singers and dancers took part in the festivities
Many well-wishers bore traditional wedding gifts of dates, sandalwood and henna
By making their wedding public, the royal couple are breaking centuries of tradition
