Kabia visits DR Congo's diamond region

The president of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila, has made his first visit to the country's 'diamond capital' Mbuji-Mayi.

Mr Kabila is touring the the gem-rich Kasai region which was badly hit by the three-year war which destroyed the former Zaire.

Control of the diamond reserves in the region was at the centre of fierce fighting betwen government troops and rebels.
